Geometry Math Journal Activities

In first grade, the studnets only need to know 4 shapes and the vocabulary that goes along with it.  They need to know square, rectangle, triangle, and circle.  This should be a review from kindergarten, but because so many of my students are new to the school in first grade, I like to review them anyways.  We also build on the information of what they learned about the shapes in Kindergarten.  Students need to draw the shape, know it's name, learn the vocabulary of side, ,angle, and vertices, and also recognize it.  Grab my Geometry math journal activities for free!

Here is a sample of 2 activities that are included in the pack. The pink one-the students need to be able to identify the shape based on the properties of the shape, and the yellow activitiy is for students to practice drawing the shapes.  Enjoy!
